Identifying your skin type

There are many different skin types, and our skin can often change and become different based on weather, seasons and the way we have treated our skin.

I know you have probably been asked before what skin type you have and often, we are not completely sure. Below are some really simple guidelines to determine what skin you have.

Normal skin

A completely normal skin is not the most common. Normal skin has no visible or enlarged pores or texture.

Makeup will last longer on the skin once applied. The skin will never feel dry, tight or uncomfortable and on the flip-side will not be shiny or greasy looking.

The skin will feel comfortable with no skin concerns.

Dry skin

The skin will often feel uncomfortable and tight.

A dry skin will often look matte and flat and will get no oil or shine on the surface at all.

The skin will very rarely experience breakouts. Makeup will often disappear as the skin absorbs the moisture.

Oily skin

An oily skin will always appear shiny or greasy. The skin will never feel tight.

You will often get breakouts on the skin and the pores will appear enlarged and often congested (clogged).

Makeup will often slide and separate.

Combination skin

A common skin type.

Sometimes the cheek area can appear tight and dry but usually find the t zone is oily and shiny. A combination skin will also experience occasional breakouts.
